Welcome To Blog Oklahoma
Blog Oklahoma is a newsletter, blog, podcast, and community resource with an Okie-centric point of view.
Blog Oklahoma began its journey on July 23, 2003, as a web ring dedicated to connecting bloggers from Oklahoma. This platform served as a vibrant space where local bloggers could not only share their thoughts and experiences but also promote their work to a wider audience, helping to foster a sense of community among writers with similar backgrounds and interests.
However, the online landscape shifted significantly. The rise of social media platforms drew many individuals away from traditional blogging, leading to a decline in participation within the blogging community. Recognizing this inevitable evolution in how people consumed and shared information, I made the difficult decision to officially sunset the Blog Oklahoma Web Ring on February 1, 2021. You can find an archive of the last Blog Oklahoma webring on Github.
Throughout its life, Blog Oklahoma transformed into much more than just a web ring. It grew into a comprehensive community resource, expanding its offerings to include a blog, a podcast, and a newsletter. This evolution reflected the changing needs and interests of our community, embracing new forms of communication while still honoring the roots of blogging that brought us together in the first place.
I hope you find Blog Oklahoma useful, informative, and fun. — K. Latham @}-;--
